Music to Level Up Your Day: NieR: Automata

I don't know much about musical theory, nor am I a musically inclined person. However, I do love to listen to video game soundtracks. Who doesn't? They can be a powerful listening experience in their own right, or be as evocative as the scores composed for film. Each of these posts will feature music tracks from a single game title, or series/franchise in some rare cases.

Composer: Keiichi Okabe

Singer: Emi Evans and Shotaro Seo

North American Release Date: February 2017

Set in a distant future, during a proxy war between alien-created machines and human-crafted androids, the story follows the trials of a combat android, her companion, and a fugitive prototype.

Composer Keiichi Okabe, who worked on both Nier and Drakengard 3, returned as lead composer. He created multiple hard and soft tracks that transitioned into each other depending on the situation and environment. Several songs from the Nier soundtrack were also arranged for Automata.

Birth of a Wish | (Dungeon Theme)

Vague Hope - Cold Rain | (Narrative Theme) | Spring Rain Version

Memories of Dust | (Area Theme)

Grandma - Destruction | (Boss Theme)

A Beautiful Song | (Boss Theme)

Weight of the World | (Credits Theme)
