Music to Level Up Your Day: Shadow of the Colossus

I don't know much about musical theory, nor am I a musically inclined person. However, I do love to listen to video game soundtracks. Who doesn't? They can be a powerful listening experience in their own right, or be as evocative as the scores composed for film. Each of these posts will feature music tracks from a single game title, or series/franchise in some rare cases.

Composer: Kow Otani

North American Release Date: October 2005

The game's story-line focuses on a young man named Wander, who enters a forbidden land in search of a deity with the power to revive the dead. The god is willing to grant his request provided he can slay sixteen colossi.

Roar of the Earth (soundtrack title) gives a good feel for the game's empty landscapes, full of mystical giants and gorgeous vistas. From powerful battle songs to calm exploration tracks.
