Music to Level Up Your Day: Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

I don't know much about musical theory, nor am I a musically inclined person. However, I do love to listen to video game soundtracks. They can be a powerful listening experiences in their own right, or be as evocative as the scores composed for film. Each of these posts will feature a sampling of music tracks from a single game title, or series/franchise in some rare cases.

Composer: Jeremy Soule

North American Release Date: March 2006

Set in the fictional province of Cyrodiil during it's third era, the story follows the Champion's efforts to thwart a fanatical cult known as the Mythic Dawn from opening gates to a deadric realm called Oblivion.

Oblivion features 26 tracks that span just 58 minutes, so Soule chose to create a soft and minimalist score so as not to wear out the listener's ears. While composing the music, no specific characters or events were in mind.
