Music to Level Up Your Day: Ōkami

I don't know much about musical theory, nor am I a musically inclined person. However, I do love to listen to video game soundtracks. Who doesn't? They can be a powerful listening experience in their own right, or be as evocative as the scores composed for film. Each of these posts will feature music tracks from a single game title, or series/franchise in some rare cases.

Composer: Masami Ueda, Hiroshi Yamaguchi, Rei Kondoh, and Akari Groves

North American Release Date: April 2006

Set in classical Japan, the Shinto sun goddess (Amaterasu) is revived in the form of a white wolf. She sets off across Japan, performing miracles and ridding the land of darkness with her godly paintbrush.

Ōkami is heavily inspired by classical Japanese works and the music reflects that beautifully. Just like the game, it's lively, inspiring, and uplifting.
